For the only project in Environmental Sustainable Design, we were assigned a task is to identify an environmental-community related issue in local community. The issues have to be genuine and we have to provide a solution that has an impact to the environment and community. We need to visit the project site more than once to collect a variety of observation before making suggestions or proposals. Our observations include what is the main environmental-community related issue, who are affected, any particular organization directly related to the issue, what the people or community needs and etc.

In our team, we produced two shoe racks and two tables for an orphanage in Rawang. We visited the site multiple times to investigate the needs of the children in the orphanage as well as the opinion of the manager. I had an opportunity to contribute something to the community through this project. Though the process was hard, and it took us a long time to finish our products, the happy faces we saw when we delivered the shoe racks and tables to the orphanage were definitely worth the effort. I wish there are going to be more meaningful project like this.
